“Therapy”

PRE-SAVE THE NEW SINGLE - OUT 9/22

A few years ago I brought the melody and lyrics of “Therapy” to Steve Oliver. And in his masterful way, Steve gave flesh and bones to it and helped me bring this song to life. Steve and I collaborated on my sophomore album, entitled “All Good” and the single “Guilty” made the Billboard and other smooth jazz charts. And needless to say, we make beautiful music together.

So, why not do it again? As if having Steve Oliver on this single wasn’t enough, I was completely flabbergasted and honored when Steve told me that THE Brian Simpson loved the song enough to grace it with his beautiful, warm keyboard touch. What a gift these two men are. And to think, it all started with an introduction from my dear friend, saxophonist Will Donato.

“Therapy” came to me after having survived the Pandemic. Like so many of you, while on lockdown I had time. Time to dig deep and begin a healing journey of sort. I spent extended time alone, felt the pain of being separated from my loved ones, lost loved ones and saw first hand the fragility of life and the importance of giving and receiving love on the spot - a right now love. Many of us experienced this awakening and I found that love (giving and receiving) is a complete healing modality. Because as soon as I was able to reunite with my people, I immediately felt better. Love is freedom and peace during the most difficult of times. Love is tenderness, healing and strength.

Love is strong and powerful, yet allows you to be weak and provides a soft place to land. Love is good. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love = “THERAPY”❤️

Enjoy!”

The Music of Vertice

“ALL GOOD” - THE ALBUM

A former two-time Black Music Award winner, Vertice Williams creates seductively grooving and wonderfully joyous music for the heart and soul on her perfectly titled album ALL GOOD. The sultry L.A. based singer – who has performed with many musical stars including album producer and engineer, chart-topping guitarist/vocalist/composer, Steve Oliver, as well as Ronnie Laws, Fattburger and blues great, Barbara Morrison - beautifully captures the multi-faceted essence of her incredible versatility when she sings this on her recording, “I just wanna sing… gospel, jazz or blues… share my gifts with you..” She does it all with style, sass and lush intimacy, as the aforementioned Oliver plays guitar, keyboards and bass guitar synth. You’ll be feeling ALL GOOD after a single listen!

“VERTICE WILLIAMS” - THE debut ALBUM

Just listening to your CD, Vertice - I bought it a couple of months ago standout tracks are 'Give Me Your Love', 'Just One Of Those Days' and my personal favourite 'You' which has a wonderful, 'breathy' and throwback late 80's feel to it which many of us UK soul fans love so much - a beautiful track indeed and come the end of 2004 when we make our top 50 of the year charts, this will definitely be up there in mine.

“Queen of Smooth”

You have waited patiently

...for her return and yes, it’s been a long time coming; in fact, it’s been years. You have remained on her mind and in her heart.  And now . . . without further ado, she’s back with a vengeance - the Award Winning Songstress and Queen of Smooth - VERTICE WILLIAMS!

Vertice’s forthcoming single “Therapy” (co-written and produced by smooth jazz guitar icon Steve Oliver with a performance from hit keyboardist Brian Simpson), is set to be released in Fall 2023.

In the years previous, Vertice has continued performing in public venues and establishing many beautiful musical relationships with the best-of-the best in the industry. One of these many musical relationships with the awesome and amazing saxophonist, Will Donato, led to an introduction to Billboard Jazz Instrumentalist and multi-talented singer, songwriter and guitarist, Steve Oliver.  Vertice and Steve became fast friends and collaborators on Vertice’s 2016 sophomore CD entitled, “All Good.”

Vertice never stopped warming the hearts of many and continues to light up every stage she performs on, whether jazz festivals, concert venues or private events.  If you’ve been paying attention, then you’ve had the opportunity to see her perform at Humphrey’s in San Diego, Spaghettini Jazz Grill in Seal Beach, the Wilshire-Ebell Theater in Los Angeles, Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the historic Baked Potato in Hollywood, The Getty Center in Brentwood and many other venues.

When Vertice isn’t singing, performing, recording or writing a song, she’s sharing her talents and skills as a savvy, licensed, full-service Realtor and investor in her State and serves her local community as the Singing Realtor!
